Strategic Partnerships Manager at Common Networks

Common Networks was founded on the idea that everyone should have a choice for fast, affordable access to broadband internet. Right now, most homes in the U.S. don't. In fact 62% of homes live in a monopoly broadband market. High-speed access unlocks all the superpowers on the internet. When it works, it can be a great leveling force across the world, giving everyone access to educational tools, entertainment, immediate translations, or even medical care that they wouldn’t otherwise have. Common Networks provides suburban neighborhoods with internet using wireless technology. We interconnect homes in a neighborhood, creating a mesh network between homes and our fiber internet sources. A whole community can then have fast and reliable internet service with only a few locations needing fiber access. 
 
Role
 
The Strategic Partnerships Associate is a highly motivated, self starter who will be a key player in developing, maintaining, and executing on strategic partnerships to support Common Networks expansion. You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, recommending, and closing strategic business deals essential for Common Networks’ growth. As a member of this entrepreneurial and results-oriented team, you will have a significant impact on defining and executing against Common Networks’ expansion and growth goals.

What you do

    • As a member of the Market Operations team, you will be responsible for closing highly strategic partnerships with building owners, governments, and property management companies.
    • Negotiate terms, contracts and agreements.
    • Support Market Operations - assess, plan, build and execute the communication process and infrastructure for our partners.
    • Own the sales cycle from qualification to close.
    • Be responsible for developing the strategy for your prospect partners.
    • Engage with internal stakeholders to get buy-in on your proposed deal structures.
    • Help build Common Networks processes for scaling partnership support and growth.

    • Operate with a high level of autonomy with a proven ability to juggle numerous activities and projects.
    • Leverage proven frameworks to evaluate potential business opportunities, structure the team’s thinking, and reach insightful answers.

Must haves

    • BA/BS
    • 5 years total work experience with 1-2 years of partnerships, sales or business development experience, preferably at a start-up.
    • You consider yourself handy. You are the kind of person who grabs their tools and does DIY projects at home.
    • Flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time.
    • Excited to work in a startup environment on a team of less than 30 people to start.

Nice to haves

    • Experience with a CRM: Salesforce, ProsperWorks, etc.
    • Familiarity with reviewing contracts and agreements
