It was founded in 2013 by a team of passionate parents who launched a groundbreaking product called the Owlet Smart Sock. This market-exclusive innovation tracks the heart and oxygen levels of newborns and notifies parents via smartphone if levels leave preset ranges. Here’s what we’ll find on our newest hire’s resume:

  • A background and skill set that stands out above our other candidates
  • Minimum of 1 year of hardware product management experience, preferably with connected devices
  • Minimum of 1 year as product manager directing engineers to build product
  • Experience bringing a product from development to market
  • Experience bringing a hardware product to market
  • We will ask you to provide descriptions and links to products you have brought to market on the application
  • Here’s how you’ll help fulfill Owlet’s vision with this role:
  • Working on a brand-new connected hardware product line at Owlet
  • Responsible for ultimate success or failure of your product line
  • Responsible for the helping develop and deliver on product goals
  • Assist in creating and maintaining the Product Roadmap for your product line
  • Leverage Design Thinking and Research methods to identify unmet consumer needs in the marketplace, and rapidly validate ideas to determine brand validity
  • Seek out and champion innovative enhancement to products and derivative services. Be an expert on product line subject matter.
  • Collect and prioritize requirements for these products from internal and external stakeholders. Build a network of relevant market contacts. Present new product functionality to stakeholders in regular demo sessions.
  • Develop and manage the accompanying documentation for each new product: Project charters, market requirement documents, user documentation, and sales collateral.
  • Assist engineering and support teams in the product development cycle, contributing to design, workflow, functionality, and product documentation
  • Coordinate and prioritize performance or maintenance issues throughout the product life cycle
  • Educate and support, marketing, and sales on functionality, feature-benefit story, and product or service messaging, as well as providing hands-on product training
  • Assist category management team in preparing and presenting roadmaps, performance reports, and financial results for the products
  • Provide design support with concepts, renderings, and occasional CAD work
  • Work with suppliers on designs and specifications, quotations, development timelines, and development support through the commercialization phase
  • Collaborate with Quality organization to create and implement appropriate product test plans
  • Work with Marketing, Sales, and Ops on Go-to-Market strategy. Marketing strategy, distribution, forecasting.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
