You are June’s next Manufacturing and Quality Engineer.
The Manufacturing and Quality Engineer oversees June’s FATP line bring-up, build support from NPI to mass production, quality management from FATP to field return, and CM management. This role works closely with Program Managers, Product Designers, Electrical & Testing Engineers, and Operations throughout the entire phase of the product life cycle. A successful MQE must have the ability to work alongside product teams of all kinds, and a collaborative and communicative work style is essential.

You Will

    • Drive FATP line setup, improvement, and qualification from NPI to sustaining
    • Monitor and report on all quality, yield and test data
    • Manage FATP elements including assembly and testing, fixture qualification, SOP/SIP review, packaging and safety compliance, IQC/OQC/IPQC specifications and implementation, FATP yield tracking and improvements
    • Drive root cause analysis of field and factory failures caused by material or assembly defects
    • Work with CM quality engineering team to identify and resolve issues from CM
    • Plan, develop and implement procedures for testing and evaluation of products; specify tests/inspections to be performed at CM and sub-suppliers
    • Design and develop processes to improve quality and reduce cost; compile data and make recommendations on changes to product design and assembly processes; ensure process control through FAI/CpK and yield analysis
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement during production
    • Lead/support sustaining projects including engineering change request, critical issue resolution, yield improvement and cost down
    • Ensure JIRA and other documentation management accuracy
    • Generate Product Quality Plan (PQP)
    • Drive Final Quality Assurance (FQA) development, documentation, optimization and execution during new product development
    • Participate in DFM activities, design reviews and design validation testing to ensure robust and manufacturable designs
    • Work with manufacturing and test engineers to develop and implement inspection and test processes

You Have

    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field
    • 5+ years of industry experience in FATP line development and manufacturing with CM, including cross-functional work in a startup environment
    • Familiarity with Six Sigma and other process improvement/quality systems
    • Data-driven and results-oriented approach to problem solving
    • Strong project management skills and ability to collaborate with team members of all roles and levels
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to travel up to 30%
