About the Job

Yup, we’re hiring... again!  We are shipping more and more robots and taking on exciting contract work at the same time. We need an Electrical Sourcing Specialist to work with our Hardware engineering staff to source parts that are cost-effective and high quality. You will be responsible for significant portions of unearthing new suppliers and/or working with our established supply chain.

An important aspect of this role will be implementing sourcing plans and tactics to effectively get quality parts in-house to meet our manufacturing demands. As well, an integral part of the job will be maximizing supplier performance and integrating the core competencies of our suppliers into our design process.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Perform as go-between for Clearpath and its suppliers
  • Act as primary stakeholder in sourcing decisions
  • Research technologies and products new to Clearpath
  • Perform supplier quality audits and incremental reviews
  • Suggest and implement cost-down ideas
  • Represent the Clearpath supply chain within project/product teams
  • Establish/monitor risk mitigation factors in key supplier relationships

Additional tasks may include:

  • Increase validity and depth of Clearpath supply chain
  • Support Application Engineering team with project estimation
  • Provide supply-based input into business models
  • Support international cost-down investigations

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Detailed technical and market knowledge of the electronics industry gained through the following: experience in design, process or test engineering, and/or operations
  • Strong experience in proper drafting standards for communicating important information between the Electrical Engineering and Supply Chain teams
  • Thorough knowledge of purchasing practices, negotiation strategies, and analysis
  • Able to coordinate and accomplish multiple priorities from a variety of internal customers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills

Bonus points for:

  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
  • Management experience
  • Experience with Epicor ERP
  • Willingness to travel
