iOS Developer at Owlet Baby Care

SUMMARY: Owlet’s Product Development Team is searching for a driven, experience, and innovative iOS Developer. The ideal candidate has experience in shipping top-grade iOS mobile applications and is passionate about innovation and quality. The candidate will report directly to the Director of Software. This is an awesome opportunity for someone to help create some forward-thinking and innovative products!


  • Be an individual contributor on an excellent mobile development team.
  • Maintain and enhance the existing Owlet iOS application.
  • Participate in the creation of application design specifications (with design teams and across business units), development, verification, performance analysis, troubleshooting and delivery of a high quality iOS application
  • Write detailed commit messages and release documentation
  • Have ownership of your work on the iOS application through design prototyping and implementation
  • Develop the iOS application in Objective-C that implements what you define from the design specifications while meeting deadlines
  • Focus on the User Experience of the Owlet iOS Application.
  • Create an interactive experience.
  • Deliver a resilient robust and durable application.
  • Have great debugging skills and can investigate hard-to-reproduce crashes.
  • Be meticulous and detailed oriented
  • Work closely with project managers, Director of Software, and follow established processes
  • Participate in regular code reviews.


  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years experience developing native iOS applications preferred.
  • Proficient in Objective-C
  • Have a strong knowledge of Xcode
  • Have submitted several production apps to the App Store
  • Advanced knowledge of web related technologies, ie RESTful APIs and JSON
  • Advanced knowledge of image manipulation and animation techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of UIKit, Core Data, Interface Builder, GCD
  • Experience writing and using unit tests
  • Must be comfortable working independently as well as in a team
  • Experience with debugging and being meticulous about quality
  • Experience working with applications developed by another developer
  • Experience with source control, preferably git
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Candidates will be asked to:
