As a Mechanical Engineer on the Robotics Engineering Team, you will help us create the most advanced robots for our customers. You will work closely with other disciplines (AI, ML, Firmware, Electrical, Product, etc.) designing structural and motion components for complex robotics systems.
You will own critical components of new projects in end of arm tooling and robotic system design. You will work closely with our Robotics Software and Machine Learning Teams to ensure that the designs you create can be not only mechanically sound but can be used by our advanced AI.
What you bring:
Ability to iterate quickly and demonstrate new concepts through fast prototypes of your design
Design and build structural and motion assemblies (e.g. robot supports, mechanism design)
Fully competent in design with SolidWorks or other major packages (3D CAD, 2D drawings)
Knowledge of and experience designing with sensors, pneumatics, motors, PCB packaging and other electromechanical components
Able to design for both traditional and rapid manufacturing methods
3+ years as a mechanical engineer in a related industry
Applicable skills in at least one of the following areas: end effector (EOAT) design, industrial automation, robotic work cells
Experience mentoring junior engineers
Experience at a systems integrator (e.g. material handling integrator)
Experience with analog electrical equipment (e.g. specifying cables, connectors, panel layouts, NFPA79)
Automated test fixture creation (e.g. PLC programming experience)
