Reliability Factory Test Engineer at June

You have a natural ability to piece clues together to find the root cause of any problem, and you are a solution-oriented thinker. You are June’s next Reliability Factory Test Engineer.
 
In this role you will be responsible for the manufacturing and quality of June’s products, and you will facilitate the transition from product development to mass production by developing test strategies to validate all stages of design, engineering, and manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with the operations team and mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop and implement new processes and procedures, and you will work alongside CM and OEM partners to ensure every product that comes off the line meets June’s standard for quality. To succeed in this role you must have excellent technical communication skills, as well as a keen sense of ownership and follow-through.

YOU WILL

    • Work with the Software, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering teams to develop, deploy, and maintain factory test processes, plans, instructions, fixtures, and other related component and system-level acceptance/production testing
    • Design and implement complete test solutions at the sub-component, sensor, and device levels to ensure performance across the full product lifecycle
    • Develop prototypes to test systems during the engineering development builds and iterate in a fast-paced product cycle
    • Manage test software development, fixture design and development, and system integration and implementation
    • Collect and analyze test data and failure data from the field, and provide feedback for continuous product and process improvements
    • Lead troubleshooting process and root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions
    • Evaluate existing factory processes and identify opportunities for streamlining flow and improving yields, including development of appropriate factory training
    • Provide support for 3PL partners and vendor evaluation, and work with component vendors to continually improve product quality

YOU HAVE

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or a closely related field
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience testing a product in mass production, preferably in the consumer electronics or appliance industry, including experience with scaling manufacturing and testing processes
    • Mechanical and software expertise in test station development, including experience coding in Python, MATLAB, and/or C++; and experience with hardware testing, system bring-up, and design validation
    • Extensive experience on-site with CMs and OEMs, including experience working on a production line and troubleshooting line down situations
    • Experience in detailed debugging, troubleshooting, and failure analysis; ability to diagnose field returns
    • Extensive knowledge of Industry Test Standards (JEDEC, ASTM, IEEE)
    • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs and work in a standing position for extended periods as needed
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
