About this role:
A Solutions Engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of robotic automation solutions and material handling workflows that allow customers to best utilize Kindred’s robotics platform. 
As a member of the Customer Success Team, the successful candidate will interface directly with our existing and potential customers to understand existing processes and challenges, devise and present solution options that meet customer requirements, and facilitate implementation of those solutions at customer sites. The candidate will have deep knowledge  of a wide variety of warehouse and order fulfillment processes, and experience with automation, robotics and industrial engineering.

Responsibilities:

    • Tasked with helping our Sales and Customer Success teams and customers conceptualize solutions utilizing current and future robotic products
    • Works closely with Account Management during pre-sales/pre-pilot phase to lead site assessments and requirements gathering to understand customer KPIs, success criteria, and build the ROI framework
    • Create performance models and cost estimations for solutions and workflows as necessary to inform deployment planning, ROI discussions and negotiations
    • Assess and understand current customer processes, workflows and potential challenges in the integration, to define innovative solutions to improve throughput, productivity, accuracy, etc 
    • Coordinate closely with Product Management team to communicate, scope and prioritize both software and hardware features required for customer solutions
    • Determine when and which partners (integrators, automation companies, etc) to engage for portions of solution development as necessary
    • Own partner engagement and project manage implementation and deployment of these 3rd party solutions where applicable
    • Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
    • Oversee solution implementation during pilot and production deployments
    • Drive optimization of workflow during initial deployment, working with engineering and product management as necessary 
    • Estimated travel 50%

Requirements:

    • 2+ years of Industrial Engineering, Process Design, or similar
    • Previous experience in distribution/fulfillment centres, warehouses or similar environments
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and writtenAbility to interface and build rapport with customers successfully and professionally
    • Previous customer-facing project management background
    • Previous experience in workflow studies, workcell optimization or similar
